Park of the Week

Klamath Park

By Jayme Gallegos September 28, 2017

Having kids of all different ages can make it hard at times to find the "perfect" park. I like to choose ones preferably without swings because my children are swing LOVERS! They could sit on the swings the entire time we are there. It drives me crazy because I didn't bring them to a park to sit. Anyone else feel my pain on this?

So now that my 7 year old has mastered the skill of riding her bike without training wheels she prefers to ride rather than play the whole time. So now we have to add that to the list! Last week we went to one of my favorite parks; Klamath Park. I have been taking my kiddos here for years, probably since they were 2 and 1 years. Klamath Park is located across the street from Galpao Gaucho-aka the old Marie Calendars. It is shaded for the majority of the day, which for me is HUGE! There are no swings (YAY!) and now I have realized that my daughter can ride in a loop around the little path they have. Mind you this path is a bit bumpy and not super smooth but it works. So she can ride and my 5 year old and almost 2 year old can play on the playground. There is also a cute little house for the kids to play in and on the sides of the house there are drums and other ways for them to play music. This park is also fun because your train lover can see the Wine Train pass by if you are there at the right time of the day.
There are NO bathrooms at this park, so if you kiddos is still potty training I would recommend keeping that potty in the car just in case. There are a few picnic tables, we have actually had my oldest daughters birthday party here one year. There is also a great grass area so you could bring your dog here and there is a basketball court so if you have kiddos who love to play bring a ball for them.

Hope you all enjoy this park as much as we do!
